Taekwondo Club
About
The UVM Taekwondo Club is a student organization dedicated to the practice and promotion of the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. UVM Taekwondo is a fully sanctioned Taekwondo school with a certified master instructor and a staff of professional assistant instructors.
We offer free Taekwondo classes to all within the UVM community regardless of experience. The experience of our members ranges from people who have never practiced martial arts before to skilled black belts who have been training for years. Everyone is welcome and you can start at any time during the school year.
Classes consist of several main areas, including basic and advanced techniques, self-defense, forms, and Olympic-style sport sparring. Our coaches/instructors focus primarily on the WT style, but also have expertise in ITF Taekwondo.
UVM Taekwondo offers the opportunity to develop self-defense skills and to participate recreationally or competitively on the cutting edge of sport Taekwondo poomsae (forms) and sparring. UVM is a Division 2 school in the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference. We actively compete in conference events and have also sent teams to Collegiate Nationals almost every year since 2009.
